Automobile Accident?
Warning: Do not call any injury lawyers until you read this!

Too many problems arise for the victims of auto accidents. Don’t make the mistake of hiring the wrong lawyer. For example - Kathy refuses ambulance service at the scene of the car accident, but the next day she feels neck and back pain. Is it too late to get medical treatment? What kind of doctor should she go to? Dennis does not call the police because the guy that ran into him admitted that the accident was his fault. There are witnesses but John doesn’t take their contact information because the guy that hits him is an honest guy. One hour later the guy that ran into John tells his insurance company that the accident was all John’s fault! Sophia calls the police and counts on the police to get the name and telephone number of the only witness to the accident. Sophia is taken to the hospital by ambulance. But the police did not bother getting the information. Martin is injured by a man driving a stolen car - the true owner’s insurance does not have to pay Martin anything. You need a lawyer who will be involved in every part of your case - from beginning to end. That way problems get resolved early in the case and that means more money for you. Lawyers who do not pay attention to you until it is time for the final settlement will cost you money!

This is what Mary Buonanno will do to help you:

You will get your claim reported to the insurance company. Many times both your insurance company and the insurance company for the person at fault (liability insurance) will require a recorded statement from you. It is better if you consult with a lawyer before calling in the claim.

You will get a referral to a good doctor, one that will help you, and help your case. I will send you to a doctor that I know and trust. I went to medical school and I understand what medical treatment you need depending on your injury. You will get a doctor that will give you excellent medical care and will not request any money from you.

You will get a complete investigation of your case. I will go to the scene of the accident to get photographs of skid marks and measure the length of any skid marks. I will take photographs of your car and the other car involved if it is available. (It’s a good idea to keep a disposable camera in your glove compartment at all times, that way you can get photos of the cars at the scene of the accident.) I will talk to all eyewitnesses as soon as possible and request a signed statement from the witness describing how the accident happened.

You will get a fair settlement on your property damage claim. This means I will investigate the value of your car to make sure that the insurance company is paying you fair compensation if your car is a total loss. You should save all receipts for money that you put into your car, including new tires, new brakes, motor, timing belt. All these things add to the value of an older car. I will make sure you are reimbursed for other property damaged in the accident. For example, broken eyeglasses or a broken cell phone.

You will get your no-fault medical benefit claim processed at no extra charge. You may have medical benefits that you pay for on your insurance policy. Depending on which state you are insured in, it may be called “Personal Injury Protection” or “Medical Payment” benefits. It is a good idea to check your insurance policy before you have a car accident to make sure this benefit is included in your insurance policy.
This benefit will pay for medical bills when you have an accident. This will increase the amount of money you get at the end of the case.
You get a diary to write down the pain, suffering, and inconvenience that this accident has caused you. The diary will help you remember what you have gone through. You will be able to tell me in detail the days of work you had to miss to go to the doctor and the kinds of activities that you were not able to do. I will use this information when I make a demand for compensation from the insurance company. If the insurance company does not offer you fair compensation and we need to have a trial, this diary will help you with your testimony.
You get a formal demand which I send to the liability insurance company. When you finish your medical treatment I will talk to your doctors to see if they think you have a permanent injury or if they think you will need future medical treatment. I will get all the medical records and bills from your doctors. I will talk to you in detail about your emotional, physical, and financial injuries that were caused by the accident. I will read your diary. I will go over my initial investigation, including the accident photos, the photos of the scene of the accident, the accident report, and witness statements. I use all this information to write a demand proving the fault of the person that hit you and establishing the value of your case.
You get a lawsuit filed in court if we do not have a fair settlement offer within 30 days after the insurance company receives my demand letter.
